Our Fundraising - Spring Benefit Luncheon
Since 1970, Parkland Rehabilitation Fund has been the major financial recipient of Junior Charity League's annual Spring Benefit Luncheon. Parkland has recognized JCL for its service and donations of over $1.9 million dollars. Our small group of 70 women is proud to bring in major dollars and donors from the community.
Each year, Parkland Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department cares for more than 14,000 patients in inpatient and outpatient therapy. The therapists practice a holistic approach for patients, young and old, recovering from traumatic brain, spinal cord, and burn injuries, as well as strokes, diabetes, wounds and other debilitating conditions.
With community support, Junior Charity League is able to raise funds needed to purchase equipment essential to patient recovery including wheelchairs, portable ramps, and diabetic shoes. These necessities are a critical part of the rehabilitation process and made possible by JCL’s continued commitment to the Parkland Rehabilitation Unit.
With opportunities to win door and raffle prizes, play bingo and bid on over 200 auction items, Junior Charity League’s annual Spring Benefit Luncheon is a Dallas favorite for Dallas women. Staged each spring at Northwood Club, the event features something for everyone.
Local and out-of-town merchants graciously donate a vast array of Silent Auction items, ranging from handbags and sporting events to artwork and restaurant gift cards. Guests enjoy a multi-course gourmet meal served in a festive ballroom. The Bake Sale, Plant Arrangements, and Centerpieces are prepared, arranged, and created exclusively by Junior Charity League members for purchase by guests at the luncheon.
