The white and yellow daisy is the official flower of the Junior Charity League(JCL)organization. The first recorded history of the Club flower can be found in the pages of the (1998-1999) JCL Directory (photo, right).
In English history, the daisy was referred to as “Day’s Eye,” and this name was a reference to the way the flower opened and closed with the sun.
There are many meanings assigned to the gentle daisy—from innocence, simplicity and joy—to happiness, good luck and new beginnings. In Victorian times, daisies stood for loyalty and trust.
